I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. 1 Timothy 2:9-10 (NIV)
What we put on says a lot about us because it’s the first thing even sometimes the last thing other people see in getting to really know us. So we are careful and intentional about our wardrobe.
But no matter how classy, elaborate, and expensive our fashion taste and dress style our deeds are far more conspicuous and louder in communicating who we are and what we are for.
Therefore as representatives and worshippers of God we are to dress modestly, decently, elegantly with good deeds.
Doing helpful things to others is a far greater impression about you and your God to others than putting on expensive clothes, jewelry or perfume.
Being gentle, kind, and generous is the way we should be dressed and addressed.
