for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. John 12:43 (NKJV)
There’s nothing wrong with fame in and of itself but it’s our heart and mind reaction or response to it that’s the issue.
Fame or glory or honor like money or material possessions is neutral. But when it gets to our heads and into our hearts and we bow to it that’s where the danger and destruction is.
God is famous among all his creation. His fame is above and overall. The men and women in Scripture whom God called and they followed, and walked with Him became famous like Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David.
Joshua 6:27 (AMPC) So the Lord was with Joshua, and his fame was in all the land.
The Lord’s glorious presence in and upon our lives brings fame, ministry brings fame, prosperity also brings fame.
But we should not be swept off our feet because now we are famous.
Jesus’ fame spread like wild fire near and far but He did not pay attention to it.
He said – John 5:41 “I’m not interested in crowd approval.
Fame meant nothing to Jesus.
Human opinion did not count to Jesus.
He was only interested in the Father’s opinion of Him. This is the key to staying free from chasing fame. Never mind fame following you, just don’t look behind you. Keep looking to your true unfading fame – your heavenly Father who believes in you.
