I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (AKJV)
The New Life we have and live in Christ Jesus is not a changed life but rather an exchanged Life.
In Christ God took our old life and in Christ’s crucifixion and death did away with it then when Christ rose from the dead we rose with Him possessing and possessed by the very Life of God.
When Paul says “I’m crucified with Christ nevertheless I live…” he refers to two kinds of life: The old Adamic, fallen, sinner life or existence which is struggling to be and live in my own strength apart from God. This is now the crucified, put to death, and buried old me.
Nevertheless I live – this is the New me, the very Life of God in me which Paul describes as Christ living in me.
We live this Life by the Faith of the Son of God. Faith is conviction, we live the New God kind of Life by being convinced of what Jesus is convinced of about us. He’s convinced of what He finished on the Cross in redeeming us from sin and death. He’s convinced of our acceptance and blamelessness in His presence. He’s convinced of our eternal union and communion with Him. He’s convinced of our healing, health, and wholeness.
