[For it is He] Who delivered and saved us and called us with a calling in itself holy and leading to holiness [to a life of consecration, a vocation of holiness]; [He did it] not because of anything of merit that we have done, but because of and to further His own purpose and grace (unmerited favor) which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began [eternal ages ago]. 2 Timothy 1:9 (AMPC)
After the Cross which includes Jesus’ crucifixion death, resurrection, and seating, God refers to His Work as a past accomplishment. This is because it’s conclusively finished.God has delivered, saved, and called us already, He’s not going to. He delivered and saved us from the power of darkness and delivered us into the kingdom of His beloved Son – Colossians 1:13.But many are in bondage even in the Church you might say.
We should proclaim deliverance to them. We should be proclaiming to everyone that God has delivered them through Jesus giving Himself for our sins – Galatians 1:4.It is through the proclamation and hearing of the Good news that God in Christ in the Cross delivered, saved, and called us that we embrace, experience and walk free.
