Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he [was] the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: ” Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; Genesis 14:18,19 (NKJV)
This priest who came to Abram (later Abraham Genesis 17:5) is an Old Testament type of Christ our High Priest. Melchizedek brought bread and wine to Abram, which typified Christ offering His Body and Blood for us.We have been given all the blessings of redemption through the offering of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. These blessings include forgiveness, deliverance, a relationship with God, peace, and assurance of life forever.
