Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, But he who hates correction [is] stupid. Proverbs 12:1 (AMPC)
There can’t be any excuse for lack of knowledge, skill, experience or expertise because all it takes to acquire these things is the love of instruction or being teachable. It’s noteworthy that God Himself while in the flesh on earth was teachable. Our Lord Jesus grew, was filled with and increased in wisdom – Luke 2:40,52. It was the habit of Jesus to listen to teaching or instruction and ask questions – Luke 2:46. He described Himself as meek and lowly in spirit – Matthew 11:29. That means teachable and yielded to correction. Jesus even learned and taught from His creation – He said look at the birds and the grass and learn not to worry about life. He learned from little children whom everyone wants to teach. He said unless you humble yourselves like little children you won’t understand and operate in God’s way – Matthew 18:1-5. Knowledge, skill, experience or expertise are readily available as long as we’re open to instruction. Never stop learning, don’t be a know it all, who can’t learn anything new. Be ready to be corrected. Keep listening and asking questions.
