Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See [how] the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. James 5:7-8 (NKJV)
The patience of a farmer is steadied by what he knows has happened and is happening. The seed has been planted and the harvest is on its way. The object and focus of our patience is the Lord Himself. He has given us promise for what we are waiting or patient for. He is also the fulfiller of what we are looking forward to. So being patient is maintaining our heart focus on the Lord, reminding ourselves that He’s able and faithful to bring to pass whatever we are expecting. Be patient by keeping your focus on Jesus the Author and Finisher of Faith.
