Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. James 5:4 (NKJV)
Everything has a voice and God can hear every voice. The voice of murdered Abel’s blood cried out from the ground and was heard by God. Genesis 4:10.
Here the unpaid wages of workers cry out and reach the Lord’s Ears. Nothing is hid from God and He doesn’t just see and hear passively and nonchalantly. God is serious and concerned about justice and equity. He has stipulated that the laborer is worthy of his wages- 1Timothy 5:18. Everyone without fear or favor should receive their due. God is an avenger of injustice and fraud. So no one should think that he can get away with taking unfair advantage of others.
Avoid cheating of any sort; owe no one anything except to love them. Romans 13:8.
