But God has brought you into union with Christ Jesus, and God has made Christ to be our wisdom. By him we are put right with God; we become God’s holy people and are set free. 1 Corinthians 1:30 (GNT)
We are in Christ, we are abiding in Him, we are living in Him.
This is God’s doing, we have nothing to do with it. Just like we are human beings living on planet earth. We had nothing whatsoever to do with our being humans, born, and living on earth.
Therefore abiding in Christ doesn’t mean trying to get into Christ and toiling hard to stay in Him. It is rather an awakening to the reality of our being in Him, seeing ourselves as ones already in Him, and this will result into living and acting as ones in Him.
The meaning and flow of life is this – we are in union with Christ. God united us with Christ. Like a branch on a tree so are we in Christ. The tree upholds and sustains the branch. In the same way Christ upholds and sustains us.
The tree defines the branch and determines the type of fruit that the branch bears. The branch on an orange tree will definitely bear oranges as long as it remains there. Now the branch did not put itself on the tree neither does it work hard to stay in the tree. God caused the branch to grow from the tree.
Because we are in Christ, abiding in Him, we will certainly bear Christ like fruit, we will manifest the Christ life of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control-see Galatians 5:22-23.
The fullness of God dwells in Christ-see Colossians 2:9.
Therefore abiding in Christ is living and walking in the fullness of God.
Abiding in Christ is fixing your mind on the truth of who Christ is in you and who you are in Him. It is filling your mind with everything Christ is in you and everything you’re in Christ.
Our theme Scripture has said; God has made Christ to be our wisdom. By Him we are put right with God; we become God’s holy people and are set free.
Christ is our Wisdom, our Righteousness, our Holiness, our Redemption see-1Corinthians1:30
Confess, meditate on, fill your heart and mind with these Christ realities – Christ is my Wisdom, Christ is my Righteousness, Christ is my Holiness, Christ is my Redemption. In Him I’m wise, in Him I’m righteous, in Him I’m holy, in Him I’m redeemed. The result is you’ll get fully persuaded of these realities and they will effortlessly show in your daily acting and living.
