To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1 (AMPC)
Wisdom which is the principal thing in life is knowing what to do when to do it. It is understanding the seasons of life. You won’t be young forever, that is why you need to recognize the times you live in prepare for the days when you may not be able to do what you are doing now.
The following scriptures stress the point that understanding seasons is key to helping us act wisely and hence live successfully. Proverbs 30:24-25 There are four [things which] are little on the earth, But they [are] exceedingly wise: The ants [are] a people not strong, Yet they prepare their food in the summer;
Proverbs 6:6-8 Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, [And] gathers her food in the harvest.
Proverbs 10:5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.
It’s not about size, might, resources or any other advantage that really puts us over and ahead. It’s about recognizing seasons and responding positively.
In Ecclesiastes 9:11…. it’s not the swift who always win the race nor the strong who always win the battle, neither the wise who always have bread nor people of intelligence and understanding who always have riches nor people of skill who always have favor, but time and opportunity happen to them all. The determining factor in life is time and season. It’s all about being in the right place at the right time. It’s doing the right thing at the right time.
You need to pray to God to give you discernment to enable you to recognize the seasons of life, to lead you in your appointed seasons and enable you deal wisely in the affairs of your life.
