In the Old Testament they would offer animal sacrifices to God as part of their worship to God. When Noah offered the animal sacrifices burning them on an altar, God smelled the aroma and it was a scent of satisfaction to his heart – Genesis 8:20-21(AMPC)Today we no longer offer burnt animal sacrifices because Jesus Christ came and was crucified as the ultimate sacrifice fulfilling all those Old Testament types and figures.Continually thanking God most especially for what Jesus accomplished for us on the Cross is the New Testament present day and forever sacrifice we are to offer to God.This giving of thanks to God is the new and better scent of satisfaction to His heart.
