And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, The Lord is with you, you mighty man of [fearless] courage. And Gideon said to him, O sir, if the Lord is with us, why is all this befallen us? And where are all His wondrous works of which our fathers told us, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? But now the Lord has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian. The Lord turned to him and said, Go in this your might, and you shall save Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent you? Gideon said to Him, Oh Lord, how can I deliver Israel? Behold, my clan is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house. The Lord said to him, Surely I will be with you, and you shall smite the Midianites as one man. Judges 6:12-16 (AMPC)
Humility is not making nothing of yourself, rather it’s strength under control. There’s a balance when it comes to how we ought to see and carry ourselves. That balanced view is simply God’s own opinion of us. A balanced healthy self-image is seeing and carrying yourself as God sees you.
How does God see you? He’s let us know over and over in his Word! Right from our inception, in the beginning of creation, before he made us he said “let us make man in our own image and likeness” Genesis 1:26.
God sees you in his own image and likeness. You are his special, precious, beloved child. You’re valued, important, and beneficial. When Jesus was born angels who are messengers from God sang “Glory to God in the highest [heaven], and on earth peace among men with whom He is well pleased [men of goodwill, of His favor]” Luke 2:14 (AMPC).
They brought us the message of God’s opinion of man, of all of us, how he sees us. He is well pleased with us, we are people of his goodwill and of his favor.
See and carry yourself the way God sees you as revealed in Jesus Christ. It took and cost God his son Jesus Christ to redeem you. So, Jesus is your worth, value. You’re God’s beloved son or daughter.
