Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly. “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:7-8 (NLT)
Some activities we engage in though beneficial only affect us short term and result in short term effects.
The most important activities in life are those that influence and benefit us long term.
Most people most of the time invest most of their energies and resources in things that are physical in nature. This is because they are more attuned to and acquainted with the physical. Yet the Word of God calls physical things temporary, perishable and fleeting.
That which is imperishable and everlasting should be our top most priority.
Godly or spiritual training is much better than physical training because it benefits us presently physically and also eternally spiritually.
Emphasize and focus more on the spiritual than on the physical.
Invest and engage yourself first and mostly in God, His principles, ways, and values which bring everlasting benefits.
