For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us…. Ephesians 2:10 (AMPC)
Good works are not the things we do to be saved, to please, be accepted or be blessed by God. They are the results of Salvation.
God saved us by His Grace and not by our own works, still by this same Grace He empowers us to do good works. These are outward tangible manifestations of the work God has already accomplished in us.
Loving people, being kind, forgiving those who have wronged us, sharing what we have, preaching the Gospel, and healing the oppressed are some of the good works we are to do as a result of the work of Salvation God has already accomplished in us.
