About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!” But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!” Matthew 14:25-27 (NLT)
We always get discouraged and disheartened by what we see or hear but even much more by what we imagine even when it’s not real or true.
Because the disciples had never seen anyone walk on water, when Jesus came doing it and more over in the strange late hours of the night they were terrified supposing it was a ghost.
Jesus dealt with their fear saying “Don’t be afraid,” “Take courage. I am here!”
Are you discouraged, in fear, or distressed? The same Jesus is saying to you “Don’t be afraid,” “Take courage. I am here!”
Be assured by His Word to you and encouraged by His presence there with you.
