You’re covered head to toe so don’t be disquieted, alarmed, or terror struck. The Lord Himself is your shield, He is your covering.
Unlike man made shields which cover and protect only a part of the body usually in front, the shield of the Lord which is He Himself covers the entire person.
The Lord is your all around protection. He protects you from all evil, harm, and destruction from every side.
He says He goes before you and He’s also close behind you.
Isaiah 52:12 (AMPC) For you will not go out with haste, nor will you go in flight [as was necessary when Israel left Egypt]; for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.
There is nothing to be frightened of, whether in the past or in the future for the Lord is your protection and preservation in front and behind.
The Lord surrounds you. Psalms 125:2 (NKJV) As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the LORD surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.
It doesn’t matter what is surrounding you on the visible outward world. You’re surrounded by an invisible and invincible power. This is the Lord Almighty and His mighty heavenly armies.
One man woke up to find they were surrounded by a hostile enemy multitude so he cried out to his master that “we are finished”. But his master was acquainted with this Lord who is a shield around His own, so he prayed that the servant’s eyes be opened to see this invisible shield and sure enough there it was, actively present right there where they were, the Lord’s fiery armies of multiplied multitudes all around about them. – See 2 Kings 6:15-17.
The Lord is your sure shield against sickness, accidents, and every wicked plot of the enemies. Live conscious of and benefit from this ever present shield as you proclaim: “Lord You’re a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head”.
