A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face; a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day. Proverbs 15:13 (MSG)
We don’t live from the outside in; we live from the inside out. It’s not what’s happening outside around us but what’s going on inside us that’s the real cause of why we are the way we are and why we are where we are. It’s from our life core – our heart that life happens and flows. Out of the heart flow the issues of life – Proverbs 4:23. A miserable heart means a miserable life; a cheerful heart fills the day with song – Proverbs 15:15 (MSG). Thank God it’s in our power what we allow in our heart and therefore in our power what comes out of our heart and defines our life. We can determine the condition of our heart – either troubled or untroubled. Jesus told us not to let our hearts be troubled – John 14:1a. He told us how we can have untroubled hearts – believing in God and in Him (Jesus) – John14:1b. Believing in God is taking Him at His Word. As we continually hear what God tells us in His Word which is life, peace, rest and confidence, we believe and experience these attributes in our hearts. This then flows out in our life and walk. But when we hear death, fear, worry and trouble that’s what will come out and be seen in our lives.
