A quick-tempered person does foolish things, and the one who devises evil schemes is hated. Proverbs 14:17 (NIV)
When you learn to control the fieriest of your emotions which is anger then you can control yourself in every other area, then you can be truly in control of your world. Emotions like fire are meant to serve us for good. When controlled, emotions are constructive. But when uncontrolled they can be destructive. A quick-tempered person acts foolishly just like a drunk person. When anger takes the steering, reason takes a back seat and that’s an accident already happening. So just like the advice ” don’t drink and drive” “don’t be angry and act”. When angry stop everything. Wait until you have cooled down. Acting in anger seems so justified but the results always prove the opposite. Proverbs 14:29 (NLT) People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness. Understand that anger is not who you are but only an emotion, a feeling, that rises and falls like the tide. So don’t let it cause you to act in a way you will regret for the rest of your life. It’s foolishness to let something fickle and fleeting to cause long term negative effects.
