Protection from Destruction

October 16, 2026 John Nsamba Comments off Devotions

He who despises the word will be destroyed, But he who fears the commandment will be rewarded. Proverbs 13:13 (NKJV).

God doesn’t destroy people. Even when they reject or revile Him. No one was punished or destroyed when they rejected and reviled Jesus on the Cross. He forgave them. He freely forgave all of us. People allow or bring on themselves destruction from the enemy when they despise and reject God’s protection. This they do when they despise and reject God’s Word. Others are destroyed for lack of knowledge found in God’s Word – Isaiah 5:13; Hosea 4:6 Give yourself to the Word of God. It’s the Word of life (Philippians 2:16) meaning life is found there. It’s the word of his power (Hebrews 1:3), meaning God’s protective power is found there. It’s the Word of faith (Romans 10:8), meaning faith that overcomes is found there. It’s the Word of Grace (Acts 20:32), meaning the Grace that saves and preserves is found there. Refusing the Word is refusing God’s life, power, and Salvation and that’s consequently bringing to oneself death and destruction.
