Those who make them are like them; [So is] everyone who trusts in them. Psalm 115:8(NKJV)
Here scripture is referring to idols that people who don’t know God make and worship – Psalm 115:4-7 God commanded the Israelites to have no other gods before Him and to make no carved image – any likeness of anything in heaven, earth, water and under the earth- Exodus 20:3-4. Because you look and act what you worship.In Bible times people made physical carved images or idols and worshiped them. Today people are making images and idols in their minds and beliefs and are worshipping and serving them. One such image is material possessions. In the time of Jesus there was mammon the Syrian god of riches and even Jesus referred to him in talking about earthly possessions that you can’t serve God and mammon.When you worship what can be stolen, passing away, and corruptible like money, physical strength and beauty, human wisdom, power and fame, that’s how your life will turn out – stolen, pass away, and corrupted.But when we worship the immortal, Almighty invisible, eternal God we will live exactly like Him forever.
