Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly. Jonah 2:1(AMPC)
God told Jonah to go preach to the city of Nineveh so they turn from sin and escape destruction but he ran away to another faraway place to flee from God’s Presence. But God sent a violent storm so the ship Jonah was on couldn’t sail any farther. Jonah ended down into the depths of the sea in a big fish’s belly. See-Jonah 1:1-17.
It’s hilarious and foolish that the man who thought he could flee far away from God’s presence is now calling upon the same God in the depths of the sea in a big fish’s belly.
But we learn a great lesson here. You can talk to God anywhere because He’s everywhere and therefore can hear and answer you. He was there with Jonah in the depths of the sea in the big fish’s belly. God never left Jonah but was there with him in all the deep darkness of Jonah’s disobedience and rebellion. There He heard his prayer and saved him. He commanded the fish and it vomited Jonah on dry land. See- Jonah 2:10.
You can talk to God from anywhere not just from a physical point of view but even spiritually, mentally, emotionally. You can talk to Him even when you’re against Him, disappointed with Him, angry and at enmity towards Him. You can talk to Him even if you say you’re an atheist.
Talk to Him now from wherever you’re. He is hearing you and answering you already.
