“There’s nothing done or said that can’t be forgiven. But if you deliberately persist in your slanders against God’s Spirit, you are repudiating the very One who forgives. If you reject the Son of Man out of some misunderstanding, the Holy Spirit can forgive you, but when you reject the Holy Spirit, you’re sawing off the branch on which you’re sitting, severing by your own perversity all connection with the One who forgives. Matthew 12:31-32 (MSG)
Are you worried that you have committed the unforgivable sin? Good News for you. The very fact you’re worried that you have sinned is an indicator you haven’t committed the worst and unforgivable sin that of blasphemy of or rejecting the Holy Spirit. The person who has rejected the Holy Spirit isn’t concerned or worried at all about it for he is so darkened and blinded by deception that he is past feeling as the Scripture says. See – Ephesians 4:19 (NKJV). The NIV says such a person has lost sensitivity. The Bible in Basic English says he has no more power of feeling.
To reject the Holy Spirit is to reject His person and ministry of convincing us to believe on and receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord.
It is to reject God’s work of Salvation through Christ and choosing to save ourselves in our own self efforts. It is to reject the Love of the Father. It is to turn your back on the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. By the way “unforgivable” doesn’t mean God won’t or can’t forgive but that the person won’t and can’t receive God’s forgiveness. Because God has already forgiven all people all sins.
