You can be sure that using people or religion or things just for what you can get out of them–the usual variations on idolatry–will get you nowhere, and certainly nowhere near the kingdom of Christ, the kingdom of God. Ephesians 5:5 (MSG)
In the light of the eternal forever, the present material world is momentary both in existence and significance. Therefore don’t put much into or make much of things. They are just that – ‘things’. Here today, gone tomorrow.
The wisest and richest among men concluded thus about things:
Ecclesiastes 2:11(MSG) Then I took a good look at everything I’d done, looked at all the sweat and hard work. But when I looked, I saw nothing but smoke. Smoke and spitting into the wind. There was nothing to any of it. Nothing.
However we can use things to invest in the Kingdom of God which is eternal.
Use time, material possessions, mental and physical endowments to serve Christ, advancing His eternal purposes.
