No one could rely on or rest in the old covenant because it depended on weak, changing, sinful, man to keep it. Under the old covenant man is commanded “you shall, you shall not.” Man failed and broke all the laws.But the New Covenant depends on Almighty faithful, unchanging, God to keep it. In the New Covenant God says ” I will, I will not.” “I will put my laws in their hearts and mind, I will be merciful to them, I will not remember their sins” – Hebrews 8:10-12 In our theme Scripture God Himself calls the New Covenant His covenant. He says He will not break it.Therefore, the least, the weakest, the most unstable among us can rely on the New Covenant and take advantage of its benefits because God made it and it’s established on His faithfulness and unchangeability.
