We have heard it with our ears, O God; our ancestors have told us what you did in their days, in days long ago. Psalms 44:1 (NIV)
God is a generational God. What He begins and does in a person, family, or nation, He desires that it continues to many generations that come after. God’s love, kindness, deliverance, faithfulness, and blessings are for generations. Therefore, He tells us to share with our children what He has done for us. This is how they believe it, and so believe in God and experience the same. Then they pass on what they received and experienced to their children. It’s through such godly practice and tradition that the knowledge and working of God is perpetuated throughout the generations and dwellings of men in the earth.
