As each of you has received a gift (a particular spiritual talent, a gracious divine endowment), employ it for one another as [befits] good trustees of God’s many-sided grace [faithful stewards of the extremely diverse powers and gifts granted to Christians by unmerited favor]. 1 Peter 4:10 (AMPC)
The world and all that’s contained in it is owned by the Lord. Psalms 50:12. He made, owns and sustains everything including you.
Therefore all that you are and all that you have, you’re an appointed steward of it. The rightful possessor is God.
Since you’re a steward of God’s resources which includes your very own life you’re accountable and answerable to Him in all things.
Your life, your time, your relationships, your abilities, your work, your possessions should report to, serve, and honor God.
As a faithful steward of God’s estate which includes your life and everything you have, you ought to find out and follow what plans and purposes God has already set for you.
True fulfillments in life and everything we do is rooted in acknowledging and conducting ourselves according to the understanding that we belong to God.
It is foolishness to think that we are masters of our destinies independent of God. One rich man who had laid up abundant provisions for the rest of his life spoke to himself “relax man, take your ease, you got it all set up”. But God called him a fool telling him that his life would be demanded from him that night. See- Luke 12:16-21.
So while this man thought he was possessor of a lot of things, truth is he owned absolutely nothing, not even his very own life!
Since the Lord is our Creator and owner He knows best what’s best suited for us. He knows best what’s best suited for our time, abilities and resources.
Therefore acknowledge the Lord as owner of you and all you have. Live for him, do everything to honor Him. Find out from Him and follow through with what He desires for you and all that you have.
