The only hope, the only expectation that doesn’t disappoint is that whose reference and focus is the unchanging everlasting God Himself.
For most people material possessions and wealth is all they see as something substantial to rely on in all their plans for the future. But the Word of God which is truth calls the resources of this world “uncertain riches”. The moth eats them, rust destroys them, and the thief breaks in and steals them. Matthew 6:19. In and of themselves earthly riches are not evil. It’s giving them the place that only God should occupy in our lives that’s evil. So let God have His center place in your Life and affairs.
