Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Psalm 100:2 (NKJV)
Serving the Lord is more about a right attitude than what we do, how much we do or how long we do it. We truly serve God from within our hearts. An example of serving the Lord is giving. It can be giving our time, energy, gifts, talents, possessions or money. The Lord loves a cheerful or glad giver – 2 Corinthians 9:7. The Lord loves serving that’s out of willingness and gladness.Taking on any task, responsibility or ministry out of necessity, because it must be done, or because you’re coerced is not service acceptable and pleasing to the Lord. Serving God shouldn’t be out of fear – of not being accepted or approved by God. It shouldn’t be because we want to be noticed, get a blessing or promotion from men or God. Serving the Lord with gladness is a result of understanding and appreciation of how much the Lord has already done for us and what a great privilege it is to serve the King of kings, Lord of lords, the Almighty, the owner and sustainer of all things.
