Until we realize and are convinced of the substitutionary work of Christ, His Death and Resurrection will only remain historical facts with no effect in our lives.The substitutionary work of Christ means everything that happened to Him happened to us. He was our substitute, our representative.When Jesus rose from the dead we were raised with Him.Just as sin no longer has power over Him, it has no power over us – Romans 6:6,11.We were raised with Christ and made alive to a righteous life. Just as death no longer has power over Him, it no longer has power over us – Romans 6:9.We were raised to a new life where we live forever in unbroken union and communion with God Physical death is now only a door to the other side of the grave where we go to live with the Lord forever.
