Bringing back the captivity of Zion has a twofold meaning. First the people of Zion were set free from captivity. They were freed from the bondage and oppression of their enemies. Second, they were brought back from exile, from the foreign land of their oppressors to their homeland of Zion.The same thing has happened to the Church on even a greater and deeper level. We were in captivity to sin, death and the devil. God in Christ turned our captivity by destroying the power of sin, death and the devil. Hebrews 2:14-15.But He didn’t stop there. He brought us into His Kingdom. Colossians 1:13.He brought us into His family, His home where there’s love, liberty, and life in abundance.
