Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 (NIV)
As long as you happen to be in this physical body, on this physical planet, you will face some kind of trial or trouble for even God in the flesh had His fair (or should we say unfair) share of trials or troubles.
Now trials or troubles don’t come from God. He has none to give and doesn’t need to use them. They were introduced at the sin and fall of Adam. They come from Satan, fallen carnal men and the world. Trials come our way to test or prove our faith. God allowed us to be here in this world of which Jesus said there are many troubles because He’s sure convinced of what we are made of and what we can do in Him. In trials our Faith gets to work. We realize it’s not by our own might and power. We look to and rely on God as our source, stand, strength, and sustenance. Now we are able to face and go through anything unmoved, unbowed, and unchanged. This is what shows we are now mature and complete lacking nothing.
