Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.” Jonah 3:1-2 (NKJV)
It is only through the preaching of God’s Word that men believe and turn from their evil ways. So each and every one of us who has believed on Christ has a God given mandate to preach the Gospel.
Jonah went to Nineveh and preached to that wicked city the message God gave him. Jonah 3:3,4.
When the Ninevites heard the message they believed God. Jonah 3:5.
They repented (changed their minds followed by a corresponding change of action) turning away from their evil ways and violence. Jonah 3:6-9.
Then they received God’s offer of deliverance from the destruction of sinfulness and wickedness. Jonah 3:10.
Regardless of how deep the darkness looks in which those where God has placed you are bound, preach to them God’s message of the light of life. They will believe, repent, and receive God’s offer of deliverance from destruction.
