And try to learn [in your experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [let your lives be constant proofs of what is most acceptable to Him]. Ephesians 5:10 (AMPC)
The only life worth living is that which is pleasing to the Lord because He made us for His pleasure.
Also since God made us in His own image and likeness, we have His very own nature, it follows that what pleases Him is what truly pleases us too, we will always ever only find real pleasure in His pleasure and real fulfillment in what is fulfilling to Him. Whatever is true in Him is also equally true in us -1John2:8
What is pleasing to the Lord or what pleases the Lord?
Faith pleases the Lord. It honors and pleases the Lord when we know and are convinced that God is actively present in, with, and for us.
Therefore we ought to practice the consciousness of God living in and among us all the time.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) But without faith [it is] impossible to please [Him,] for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and [that] He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
It pleases the Lord when we live and conduct our lives from the conviction and consciousness of Him dwelling, walking, and working in us as well as we ourselves dwelling, walking, and working in Him.
The Life of fruitfulness or good works that pleases the Lord flows from this revelation and realization of Christ in us and us in Christ. This is what Jesus meant when He said that when we abide in Him as branches only then can we bear fruit that glorify the Father -John 15:4-8.
Because Christ is in us, God’s life is in us. We can therefore exhibit this divine life in our daily outward living. This is what is pleasing to the Lord. For example we can show the kindness and goodness of God in us by acting with generosity, distributing and contributing to those in need. Such sacrifices are pleasing to the Lord- Hebrews 13:16 (AMPC)
