Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. Romans 12:4-5 (NLT)
All of us believers in Jesus Christ are united and are one, all together making up what Scripture calls the body of Christ.
Like the human body we are many parts but one body. We belong to one another.
We share in the same Spirit of God and therefore outward natural, physical, cultural, and social classifications don’t count.
1 Corinthians 12:13 (NLT) Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.
Each and every one of us as a part matters very much in the body. Each and every one of us serving in our respective function benefit the body a lot.
You matter very much in the body. Functioning in your part is very important to the body. God has placed you exactly where He wants you knowing very well that’s where you fit, that’s where you function best, and that’s where you best benefit the body.
Focus on playing your part or role. Don’t intermeddle in other people’s parts, whether they are fully carrying out what they’re supposed to do. Don’t compare yourself with others. None of our parts is more significant, none is less significant. They’re all equally important otherwise God wouldn’t have included them in the body.
You could be a mouth in the body called to prophesy which is speaking edification, exhortation and comfort inspired by the Spirit. See- Romans 12:6. Give it your best shot. Also as a mouth you could be called to teach. See- Romans 12:7. Do it the best you can. Still as a mouth you could be called to encourage someone. See- Romans 12:8. Go for it without reservation.
You could be a hand in the body that gives out. Give generously. You could be the heart that shows kindness, do it cheerfully. See-Romans 12:8. Whatever your part is, do it ungrudgingly not as a duty but delightfully, knowing that your contribution to the benefit and building of the body is for Christ’s glory. Know this also that when the body is built and strong you also share in its strength and wellbeing
