There’s shaking in all creation because of degeneration and decay that resulted from Adam’s sin and fall. This is the reason for natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, desertification. There’s also the shaking from Satan the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy. This is the cause of wars, terrible plagues, famines. Then there’s the shaking of God who is restoring creation to its original perfect order. This explains change of systems and governments. In all these shakings we have assurance of being kept steady on a foundation that God Himself keeps firm.We don’t have to tremble with the earth, because God is upholding us.All the shakings will ultimately be used by God to remove everything that is not from Him and not for our good so that only what’s from Him and for our good remains – Hebrews 12:26-27.
