9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10For you will not leave my soul in hell; neither will you suffer your Holy One to see corruption. Psalms 16:9-10 (AKJV)
Jesus as our hope or expectation is not just a future happening. He has already come and is here right now in and among us.
As our hope He is our assurance that even what we haven’t yet seen or heard or felt is right here, awaiting us.
For example Jesus as Hope of our resurrection is not necessarily pointing to a future event when all the dead shall rise from the dead but rather fully persuading us of our own rising from the dead already a reality concluded and established in Him when He came out of death, hell, and the grave triumphant and glorious.
This hope laid up in heaven actually came down to earth and deep down into the lowest place in hell.
So no matter where we may find ourselves seemingly stuck, stranded, or stagnant, there’s a heavenly hope who came down to everyone’s place and lifted us up together with Him to the highest place in God the Most High.
