The fruit of the righteous [is a] tree of life, And he who wins souls [is] wise. Proverbs 11:30 (NKJV)
When a person gets born again, he turns from darkness to light. The darkness is the realm and rule of satan. It includes everything evil, hateful and harmful.
The Light is the realm and rule of God. It includes everything beneficial, advantageous and profitable. Jesus spoke to Saul later the Apostle Paul his assignment on the road to Damascus in Acts 26:15-18(NIV) 15 “Then I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’
“ ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied. 16 ‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me. 17 I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
The Word of God describes Light as wisdom and darkness as folly or foolishness. Turning from darkness to light also means turning from foolishness to wisdom.
Preaching the Gospel for the Salvation of souls is proclaiming the Wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians 2:7-8 (NKJV) But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden [wisdom] which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
The Gospel is God’s Power and Wisdom that transforms man into a New Creation filled with the Spirit and Life of God. It is the New Creation man who transforms the world to be a better place, a paradise to live in. Therefore, preaching the Gospel to win souls from darkness to light, from foolishness to wisdom is super smart. When you persuade a soul out of folly into wisdom, out of death into life you’re wise. Today get practical, make a list of ten people close to you that don’t know the Lord, start to pray for them and for the opportunity to share the gospel with them.
