The saying is sure and true and worthy of full and universal acceptance, that Christ Jesus (the Messiah) came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost. 1 Timothy 1:15 (AMPC)
The Name Jesus means Savior. He was named Jesus because He is the One who came to save us all from all our sins. Matthew 1:21.
God is not against or angry at sinners but after their rescue and restoration.
He has already provided a way where the worst and vilest of sinners can be saved. Jesus is God’s way of rescue and restoration from all sin, evil and suffering.
As believers we should like God not hate or condemn those in sin.
When Jesus went to the house of Zacchaeus a chief tax collector people complained that He went to be guest with a sinner (tax collectors were among the worst of sinners in those days). But Jesus’ response was – “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. “Luke 19:9-10. As Jesus’ followers this is how we should deal with those in sin.
