And he prayed to the Lord and said, I pray You, O Lord, is not this just what I said when I was still in my country? That is why I fled to Tarshish, for I knew that You are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness, and [when sinners turn to You and meet Your conditions] You revoke the [sentence of] evil against them. Jonah 4:2 (AMPC)
Contrary to what many including the majority of those who claim to know Him think, believe, and preach, God isn’t into the business of recording, recounting and pouring out retribution on people for their sins.
He’s involved in revoking the sentence or judgment of evil against men. He’s a sin remover and destroyer while at the same time a redeemer, and restorer of those who have sinned.
On the Cross God in Christ revoked the sentence of evil against all of us. He removed and destroyed sin and it’s consequences in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It’s when we believe on Jesus Christ that we get to experience and enjoy all this wonderful work God has done.
