So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. Galatians 5:1 (NLT)
Christ has set us free by bringing us into Father- Son relationship and fellowship with God. In Christ we are accepted and made right with God not through any performance on our part but because of what He accomplished on the Cross in freeing us from sin and death.
Our freedom in Christ is not being free to do whatever we feel or think like in disregard of due consequences but living freely from within our new righteous and holy nature that He has given us in our hearts.
We no longer struggle to be and act righteous or holy, we no longer strive to please God, be accepted or valued, we no more strain to succeed and progress. Instead, resting in who He is in us and who we are in Him we find ourselves producing after our own kind – which is Father God’s very nature and character in us.
