[Put first things first.] Prepare your work outside and get it ready for yourself in the field; and afterward build your house and establish a home. Proverbs 24:27(AMPC)
Observing the sequence of creation in Genesis chapters one and two we see God working with this principle of first things first which one could also term as preparation.
The chief architect, the creator of all things took time to make preparations in establishing a suitable environment and home for his beloved creation and family. He started with the things that would contribute to the sustenance of his earth household or family.
Lesson here is: Start with and focus more on the things that contribute to the sustenance of the life and environment of your dreams. God created the heavens which include the sky, the stars and planets of which the prominent ones are the sun and the moon to serve earth. The sun, moon and stars were for the purpose of lighting earth; separating day from night; marking off seasons, days and years-see Genesis 1:14-18.
He created earth suitable for life, put in animals, birds and plants to serve man. Then in the earth He chose a place where He planted a garden, a paradise from where man would live and launch out to subdue the whole earth. After all was perfectly prepared then lastly God created man. So we see that the heavens were created and prepared to serve earth which in turn was created and prepared to serve man.
It is more important to first work on the things that serve and sustain the kind of life we desire. A nice home, a great marriage all require means of sustaining and maintaining them. Therefore focusing and working first on the means is top priority.
If you want to marry and start a family first work on your character, attitude and productivity which make you marriage and family material.
First build the people and relationships and resource avenues that would help and support you in ministry or business then build it after. Work first and more on the conduct and character that will uphold you in your gift, talent or calling. Your business should be prioritized over your bank account. In life your contribution for the wellbeing of another person is more important than what others can and must do for you. Always have the attitude of “what and for who am I in this for instead of what’s in this for me. Deposit first then withdraw. Deposit more than you withdraw.
