We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Hebrews 12:2 (NLT)
Jesus did not give in to the pressure of giving up on His vision and mission. He did not give in to distraction, discouragement, or disappointment.
This He did by staying focused on the joy awaiting Him after the shame and suffering of the Cross. He saw all of us with Him in His Father’ Love embrace – delivered, justified, sanctified and glorified. He saw you and I set free and reigning in life.
Do not give in to distraction, discouragement, or defeat. Do this by staying focused on the joy set before you. It’s the joy of the Lord who is with you, in you and for you. It’s the joy of knowing ahead of time that victory already belongs to you. This we already know from what God has said and done in Christ Jesus.
