And God purposed that through (by the service, the intervention of) Him [the Son] all things should be completely reconciled back to Himself, whether on earth or in heaven, as through Him, [the Father] made peace by means of the blood of His cross. Colossians 1:20 (AMPC)
“It is finished” Jesus cried out on the Cross at Calvary. John 19:30. He did not mean that his part was finished and now what was left was our part. He meant everything that has to be done to reconcile man with God was done, accomplished, finished! Jesus paid it all, no balance left. Nothing for us to do except believe. We are beneficiaries of what God did and provided all by himself in his Son Jesus Christ in the Cross.
Our theme scripture says God through his Son completely reconciled all things, whether in heaven or earth with himself.
He made right with himself all things. He restored us to favor with himself through Jesus’ death on the Cross of Calvary.
He put away all our sins, he made us righteous, he healed us, blessed us, gave us his Holy Spirit, made us his children, gave us eternal life and lots of other benefits through the Cross of his Christ at Calvary.
Calvary covers it all. There could be no better insurance policy and life assurance in all eternity.
What God did in his son Jesus Christ in the Cross took care of all man’s problems.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
The message of the Cross means what God personally present in Christ did to save mankind from sin and death. It is God’s power to deliver and provide for and sustain man. Embracing this truth is what releases us to live freely, unfettered and fulfilled.
