Buying your enemy lunch is showing him or her God’s goodness.
People are enemies because they have not received the knowledge and understanding of the true nature of God. Because they don’t know God who is light, love, and life, they reject and resist Him thus remaining in darkness, hatred, and death.
But God has already personally present in Christ come and reconciled all men with Him. 2 Corinthians 5:18,19.
He has given us the ministry of reconciliation. Through us God is telling people to come to Him, that he holds nothing against them, that He loves them.
When we do good to those who are enemies towards God and thus enemies towards us, we are shining and piercing through that darkness that’s in their hearts and minds with the light of the heavenly Father’s goodness.
People are enemies towards God and one another because they have believed the lies of the devil who is the enemy of God and man.
It’s when we hear and believe the Truth that God is light, love and life that we change and are transformed.
It’s the goodness of God that brings about a change of mind in us leading to a change of attitude, behavior and lifestyle. Romans 2:4 (NKJV)
