Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?” John 11:40 (NLT)
The ordinary person wants to see then they’ll believe. However the faith led person believes then it is manifested in the physical realm. Believing is seeing and judging by the spirit or the Word. God is a Spirit and operates from the unseen spirit realm. Therefore you cannot see or judge what He does or has done if you use sense glasses. You have to use spirit or the Word glasses in order to see God at work or His finished work.
Wherever in the Scriptures we are told, commanded, encouraged or admonished to believe, we are actually being told to see by our spirit or heart or the Word what God does or has done. A believer is a seer by his spirit or heart or by the Word of God.
Unbelief is concluding and insisting that God hasn’t done anything just because you don’t and can’t see or feel it with your senses. It is concluding and insisting that God doesn’t exist just because you can’t see or feel Him with your senses and reasoning.
The cure for unbelief, the fuel for believing is yielding to the Word of God. Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith [comes] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. For example we believe God is with us not because we physically see or feel Him but because He has said so in His Word and we also have that inward assurance and peace in our spirit or heart. 1 Peter 1:8 (AMPC) Without having seen Him, you love Him; though you do not [even] now see Him, you believe in Him and exult and thrill with inexpressible and glorious (triumphant, heavenly) joy.
How can this be? When we give ourselves to His Word which is living and active and powerful just exactly as He Himself is, we tangibly experience Him. Give yourself to God’s living active, powerful Word. As you sincerely read it, hear it, study it, confess it, meditate on it, pray in it, act on it you’ll experience the reality, the certainty, the ‘aliveness’ of God in your life. That’s what believing or seeing by your heart is all about.
