Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Ephesians 5:1 (MSG)
You can only imitate what you’re seeing or hearing. Therefore to imitate God you must be seeing and hearing Him. It’s as we are watching God that we learn and do what He does.
We watch God by watching Jesus. Hebrews 1:3 (MSG) This Son [Jesus] perfectly mirrors God, and is stamped with God’s nature.
We watch Jesus by looking into the Scriptures and finding out who He is and what He accomplished for us in His Life, Ministry, Death, Resurrection and Seating at God’s Right Hand.
For example Acts 10:38 (MSG) Then Jesus arrived from Nazareth, anointed by God with the Holy Spirit, ready for action. He went through the country helping people and healing everyone who was beaten down by the Devil. He was able to do all this because God was with him.
Imitate God by helping and healing those around you who are beaten down, for God is with you and has anointed you to do it.
