How much better and of more value is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful and allowable to do good on the Sabbath days. Matthew 12:12 (AMPC)
When you are at rest you’re at your best. We know that when we are jumpy and snappy and grouchy and cranky, most of the times it’s because we haven’t rested well so what we need is some good rest and then we can get back to our normal, pleasant, acceptable selves.
Sabbath means rest. When we rest we are able to do good. When we are in or at rest we can do good. Jesus was always doing good all the time because He was always at rest. This is the revelation and truth in why Jesus was always healing and setting people free on the Sabbath – John 5:16-17. It’s not when we do more that we achieve more and so rest more. It’s when we rest more that we do more. Remember true rest is more than physical which includes sleeping. True rest is the knowing, persuasion and thus relying on God. Rest in Him and do good not just for yourself but especially to others
