If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:11 (NKJV)
The all seeing, all knowing God is perfectly aware of all our needs, why would we have to ask God for anything when He already knows what we need. Can’t He just go ahead and give us everything without us first asking?
Matthew 6:8 (NKJV) “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
Asking our Father for what we need is how we demonstrate our dependence and trust in Him.
When we ask the Father for what we desire and it’s granted, we are showing and exercising our faith in Him.
In this way we are being fruitful, exhibiting outwardly His nature and character in us.
This honors and glorifies Him.
John 15:7-8 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
When we ask the Father for what we desire and receive it we experience complete joy.
There’s unspeakable exultant joy knowing that you are known, heard and positively responded to by another who dearly loves you especially none other than our heavenly Father.
John 16:24 (NIV) Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
Therefore ask the One who never gets tired, neither ceases to lavish good gifts on those that ask Him.
