This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
Hebrews 6:19 (NLT)
An anchor is a device that holds a ship or boat firmly, securely, steadily in one place.
So in life an anchor is that which gives stability or security. Parents are an anchor for their children. Women look to their husbands as their anchors. Many look to their qualifications, achievements, and possessions as an anchor for their lives.
The Word of God tells us that hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our soul. In other words hope gives us stability and security.
Hope is a positive expectation of good. Hope sustains us when we are waiting to see our desires come to pass. Hope gives us the strength to keep holding on when we haven’t yet attained our goal.
A pregnant woman is said to be expectant. She’s carrying a child, a life that’s not yet seen. That’s what it means to have hope. You are expectant or positively expecting something or someone good to happen or show up.
The Lord Jesus Christ is our hope.1 Timothy 1:1.
His presence in our lives is our hope. Colossians 1:27.
He is our stability and security. As we see and focus on him in every situation, we are confident that our expected end is guaranteed. Because he’s always for us for good. Romans 15:13. Hope in Christ today!
