And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to [His] purpose.
Romans 8:28(NKJV)
One of the best examples of this scripture practically illustrated is Joseph’s life.
Joseph was son of Jacob the son of Isaac the son of Abraham. God showed Joseph that he was destined to be a great leader and that his family would bow to him. He prematurely, unwisely told his brothers the dreams God gave him, besides his father loved him more than the rest of the brothers and also unwittingly showed it openly. The brothers got jealous, angry, and hated him. They almost murdered him but because of divine intervention they ended up selling him into slavery. He ended up in Egypt, was falsely accused of attempted rape, thrown into prison, but finally rose to become prime minister of Egypt through the mighty working of God who all along was with him. Let’s see Joseph’s attitude in all this as he responds to his brothers’ fears that he would retaliate after all the evil they had done to him.
Genesis 50:15-21 When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “Perhaps Joseph will hate us, and may actually repay us for all the evil which we did to him.” So, they sent [messengers] to Joseph, saying, “Before your father died he commanded, saying, ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph: “I beg you, please forgive the trespass of your brothers and their sin; for they did evil to you.”‘ Now, please, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. Then his brothers also went and fell down before his face, and they said, “Behold, we [are] your servants.” Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for [am] I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me; [but] God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as [it is] this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.
It doesn’t matter whether the enemy directly hurled the problem at you, maybe someone else got you into trouble, perhaps it’s a mess of your own wrong choices, because God is with you and for you, all things will turn out for your good. God turns your mess into a message, so instead of a sorry you have a story.
